Why does the bottom of the bucket turn yellow?

Toilet water is hard water, also called hard water. In fact, it is rich in minerals, such as calcium and magnesium, which are responsible for the formation of limestone. When this water stagnates in the container, it promotes scale formation. These unsightly yellow or brown spots are therefore limescale deposits.

Keep in mind that scale not only invades our bathrooms, but also all of our appliances that use hard water. As well as being unsightly,    limescale deposits cause excessive energy consumption.

How to find a white bowl?

To remove the yellow stains that cover the walls of the bowl, 3 ingredients come into play: baking soda, white vinegar and salt.

Will need:

  • 4 tablespoons of baking soda
  • 3 tablespoons of salt
  • 1 glass of white vinegar

This preparation costs less than one euro and can be used for up to a month.

Generously sprinkle baking soda on the sides and bottom of the bowl. Then sprinkle salt over the same surfaces covered with baking soda. Let it sit for a few minutes and pour the white vinegar over the stained areas. Leave on for an hour to allow the mixture to work better on tartar deposits. Then rub the yellow stains with the toilet brush and flush the toilet.

What other surfaces can be cleaned?

Toilet seat:    Just like the bowl, the seat is also prone to yellowing. To add shine, sprinkle baking soda on the stains and rub it in with a slightly dampened microfiber sponge. The abrasive crystals in the baking soda will loosen the yellow stains. Then dip a clean cloth in some white vinegar and wipe down the frame to disinfect it.

Faucets and sinks:    To remove white limescale marks on faucets and sinks, dust them with baking soda. Next, dip a sponge in castile soap and salt and scrub the faucets and sinks to make them shine.

Shower screen:    limescale stains and soap residue quickly dirty the shower screen. To clean your shower stall, mix a cup of baking soda with a little water to form a paste that you will spread on the walls of the shower stall. Leave for a few minutes and    rub with a sponge   . Next, wipe down the walls with a cloth soaked in white vinegar to remove any remaining scale. If the stains are more difficult to remove, add a little salt to the baking soda paste to make it more abrasive.
