In addition to seasoning dishes, it sometimes also gives them a sweet taste, depending on the quality and therefore the white, red, purple color. They contain important nutrients that bring benefits to our body. In fact, onions are rich in carotene, phytocides, B vitamins, and nicotinic acid. All substances that are not only good for the human body, but also useful for growing vegetables, especially tomatoes and cucumbers.

Onion skins, everyone buries them in the garden. The old trick that will revolutionize your vegetable garden!

So you’ve done it right: don’t throw away the onion skin, use it again. If you don’t have a vegetable garden and don’t grow anything, you can still use them to enrich the soil at home with ornamental plants.

If you use them, you will get a phenomenal result. But let’s see how you should use them. A first method is to bury them as they are and wait for them to release the nutrients needed by the soil. Or if you want a slightly faster result, it is advisable to boil them before burying them.

If they need to be used to grow tomatoes, it is recommended to prepare a decoction. Boil the onion skins and then let them cool in a cool place for 2 days. Finally, filter the broth and dilute it with water, using one part broth and three parts water. Now you can pour the resulting mixture into the soil right next to the tomato plant.

You can also use the same procedure for growing cucumbers, which should be watered with 3 liters of this mixture per square meter. In addition to this use, the compound can be sprayed on plant leaves to combat potential fungal diseases.

Another use of onion skins is to spray their mixture on infected plants. Prepare the product by bringing two cubes of water and one cube of onion skins to a boil. If you can get them, add a few tablets of potassium-based garden soap as well. Finally, filter and pour into a spray bottle.

Onion skins on ornamental plants, how to use them!

As we have already mentioned, they can also be used to feed ornamental plants at home. Boil 8 liters of water with the amount of onion skins in 1 liter of water. This obtained product is stored in a container that must be sealed and left to rest for a day. It is then used by watering the soil of the plants without spraying it on their leaves. The irrigation ratio is 5 parts water and 1 part product.
