The bathroom is sometimes plagued with bad odors. Poorly ventilated, the smells of humidity, pipes, mold or toilet smells quickly permeate the room, and sometimes reach the house. To avoid these inconveniences, we have prepared a small non-exhaustive list of easy tips to deodorize the room in no time.

The following tips can help you easily eliminate bad odors in the bathroom.

bad toilet odors

Deodorize the toilet bowl

They are often the source of bad odors, due to smelly pipes. To remedy this scourge, pour a little liquid soap into the toilet before flushing.

Bleach or scented water also works. This little trick will refresh the surrounding air.

Make your own odor spray

There’s nothing better than deodorizing your toilet with a naturally scented spray. To do this, mix:

  • A tablespoon of cleaning alcohol
  • 40 drops of essential oil (lemon, rosemary, lavender…)
  • 80 ml of water and a spray bottle. Then spray the mixture inside the bowl. Rinse immediately and repeat the operation.

Flush the toilet several times so that the gases are eliminated. This solution is not environmentally friendly and should only be used in emergency situations. This will make it disappear, if not totally, at least partially, for a bit of freshness.

Use white vinegar

Vinegar barely diluted in water can both disinfect while absorbing bad odors. Spray the floor, ceiling, walls and toilet bowl with this mixture before cleaning with water.

matches

Light a match

Fairly popular remedy, light and then extinguish a match near the bowl. The smell of sulfur will hide bad odors instantly. If this solution is by far the simplest, its effectiveness is not long-lasting. So always have a box of matches nearby to dissipate bad smells!
