Boiling water – Source: spm
Clean the wedding ring with warm water and detergent
The first tip is very simple, as all you have to do is use hot water and detergent to clean the wedding ring. To do this, heat the water until it almost reaches a boil and place the liquid in a small container. Stir in some detergent until a foam forms, then soak the ring until the water starts to cool. Next, take a soft-bristled brush and scrub the ring thoroughly. If the dirt does not come off completely, repeat the process several times until you are satisfied with the result. By the way, this advice also applies to other types of silver or gold jewelry that have been blackened. Magic, right?
Mix of baking soda and toothpaste – Source: spm
Clean the wedding ring with toothpaste and baking soda
To clean with baking soda, the trick is to use another homemade solution. Mix one teaspoon of baking soda with two equal-sized teaspoons of toothpaste. The combination of fluoride and baking soda will be perfect for cleaning your wedding ring, especially the silver one! Run this compound through the wedding ring and scrub thoroughly (to avoid scratches) with an old toothbrush until the dirt comes out. Then just wash it under running water and that’s it!
Tip: Baking soda can also be used to polish the wedding ring. To do this, dissolve 1 teaspoon of baking soda in a 250ml glass and leave the ring to soak for about 20 minutes. After that, pat it dry with a clean cloth.

Carry out daily cleaning to prevent oxidation
The sweat of our skin is also one of the main responsible for the blackening of the ring, be it gold or silver. Therefore, to prevent the ring from needing more cleaning, it is useful to perform one a day. In this case there is no mystery: just remove the jewel once a day and clean it with a dry cloth, eliminating the sweat of our body that is trapped in it. Avoid using cleaning products too often so that the ring does not suffer possible scratches.
Beware of abrasive products
Also, to ensure the durability of your wedding ring, remember to avoid abrasive products, such as bleach and acetone. If in doubt, whenever you come into contact with a product that is not soap or detergent, remove the ring and then put it back on. By following all of these tips, your wedding ring can last a lifetime… for marriage, that’s another story!
