If you have garden tiles and don’t know how to clean them, we have the right solution for you. Below are all the details.

If you want to install outdoor flooring, you need to make the right choice. Variabilities other than exterior must be taken into account, and therefore functionality rather than aesthetics must be evaluated. Outdoor materials are different and it also depends on where they are placed.
The properties that an outdoor flooring must have include waterproofing, slip resistance and frost protection. On the other hand, it is resistant to stress and, above all, to climatic influences. Nevertheless, there are abrupt temperature changes and possible mold growth. You can find all the characteristics in the technical data sheet of the material and flooring you have chosen.

Among the options that can be chosen for outdoor use are terracotta, natural stone, porcelain stoneware for outdoor use, concrete, wood and other synthetic materials. Now, let’s see how to clean garden tiles depending on the material. You can find everything in the following paragraph.
Garden tiles: how to clean them
As we have already mentioned, indoor tiles should definitely not be used outdoors, as they do not have the same resistance. It is obvious that outdoor tiles are more stressed by atmospheric phenomena or simply by the presence of a nearby garden.
Then there are some materials that are more porous than others that tend to accumulate more dirt and dust. For normal cleaning of garden tiles, you can use a natural mixture consisting only of water and vinegar. For more stubborn stains, you can also add baking soda or Marseille soap. But let’s take a look at the individual materials:

- Stone: To clean outdoor stone pavements, you can use a mixture of 10 tablespoons of alcohol, 2 tablespoons of baking soda and Marseille soap.
- Cotton: It is better to choose a special detergent. There are several special models on the market that are specially designed for this type of flooring. Since it is a delicate floor, you should also dry it with a microfiber cloth.
- Wood: Also in this case, it is advisable to use special products, as it is a very delicate material that requires special oil-based products.
Removing weeds from tiles
If you find weeds between the tiles, that’s completely normal. We are in the garden and it is possible that it will happen. Although you always pull out the root, it always comes out and you have to use a special product for it. For example, you can use baking soda diluted in water.

Just take a 1-liter bottle of water and then add 10 g of baking soda. Shake well and then fill in the areas where there is more grass. These die and tend to stop growing. Chances are, you’ll need to do this more than a couple of times. Remember to do this at dusk, when the sun is not shining and the temperature is below 35°C.
