Keeping our plants alive and beautiful is not such a simple task. Whatever care is provided, and despite all the recommendations we diligently follow, they end up deteriorating.
Often this happens because they don’t have enough light or lack of energy. In other words, because they are unable to complete the cycle of “photosynthesis”, which allows the plant to produce the tissues that constitute it. And this, thanks to the synthesized sugars and minerals extracted from the earth.
Photosynthesis takes place thanks to the starch (which results from the water taken from the soil by the roots) and to the carbon dioxide captured in the air of the leaves. The released oxygen will provide the energy the plant needs to stay healthy and grow. But without sunlight, there is no photosynthesis. And if this element is missing, your plants will inevitably be dull and in poor condition.
That’s why we are going to present you a very practical trick to revitalize any type of plant, both indoors and outdoors. An effective, ecological and above all free preparation!
Rice water – Source: spm
Items you will need to prepare rice water for your plants:
- A large enough bowl
- Rice
- Water
- A colander
Preparation:
1. Get the bowl first.
2. Put some rice in it.
3. Add 2 or 3 parts of water (without adding salt).
4. Leave to rest.
5. Stir with your fingers to make starch production more efficient.
6. You will notice that your bowl has taken on an almost white color. This shows that the rice has released starch into the water.
7. Filter the mixture and of course you can reuse the rice.
8. It’s time to water all the plants, especially the dullest ones.
9. Keep in mind that the solution you have prepared is used on the same day, it is not reusable because it loses its properties.
10. After watering, repeat this trick every 15-20 days.
11. You will gradually notice that your plants will change dramatically and become healthier and more energetic.
It is an ideal method to help plants grow stronger and maintain their attractive appearance.

Why do our plants need starch?
Plants store starch in their roots. This starch is then stored in the chloroplasts to be broken down slowly and used by the plant as an energy source during the night. It therefore represents the fundamental source of energy and carbon necessary for their metabolism. Note that starch comes only from plants that synthesize it from carbon dioxide and water contained in the earth or soil during photosynthesis. As we said above, it is thanks to all this process that the plant will get all the nutrients it needs to perform all its functions.
